Technical Committee Urged to Use Local Language - PHIRI

Eastern Province Minister PETER PHIRI has appealed to the Technical Committee on Constitutional Amendments to consider receiving submissions in local languages.
Speaking when the Committee paid a courtesy call on him today, Mr. PHIRI said it would be prudent for the Committee to allow submissions in local languages so that people are not restricted in expressing their views.
Meanwhile, when the Technical Committee delegation paid a courtesy call on traditional leaders, delegation leader GUESS NYIRENDA said the presence of Chiefs highlights the importance they attach to the constitutional process.
And Eastern Province Chiefs Council Chairperson Chief MNUKWA said traditional leaders are ready to present their position on the constitutional amendments.
